Volunteer signup privacy
This supplement explains the spam protection on our judge and volunteer signup forms. Our Privacy Policy and Terms continue to apply to your signup information.
Background browser verification
We use Cloudflare Turnstile to help identify automated submissions. Turnstile processes browser and connection information in the background. Successful verification is required before we save a signup. If verification is blocked or unavailable, your details stay on the form so you can retry. See the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum for details. Our verification request does not send your name, email, phone number, birth date, or waiver answers to Cloudflare.
Limits on repeated submissions
We use temporary counters to limit repeated signup attempts. Those counters use keyed hashes of email addresses, internet addresses, and a random browser identifier, rather than storing the original values in the counters. Counters expire after ten minutes; older counters are removed as new submissions arrive. The random browser identifier is kept for the current browser-tab session when browser storage is available.
We also keep technical outcome codes and the event identifier to detect verification, rate-limit, and signup failures. These diagnostics contain no contact details, form answers, IP addresses, or verification tokens. Diagnostics older than 14 days are removed as new events are recorded.
These protections do not change your waiver, communication preferences, or signup information.
