We have limited access to the Scoring Tool to certified coaches with Level 1, CF Kids or Brand-X certification. This is part of the integrity and “checks and balances” of our competition. When a child performs the Workout of the Day, they should be judged by someone, other than a parent, who is knowledgeable in CrossFit and understands proper range of motion and youth safety. The judge can be the Scoring Official or someone designated by the Scoring Official. Many boxes are having the kids do the Open Workout as a group in a class setting so the coach in charge is typically the Scoring Official and there are judges on hand to watch the individual athletes.
Certified trainers that hold a Level 1 CF Certificate or a CF Kids certificate or a Brand-X certificate may apply on our website to be a Scoring Official. Applicants are reviewed than granted access to our Scoring System. Instructions are emailed to the address that the Scoring Official used to register with.
Chances are you have an affiliate with a Kids coach that would probably let you join them for the Open WoDs. If not, you may scan your athlete’s score card and email to juniors@thegaragegames.com However we do want unbiased judging of our athletes. In other words, parents should not judge their own children.
Registrations after October 4, 2019 will be served on a “first come, first served” basis until the shirts run out.
This is an opportunity for all our Junior athletes age 7 to 14 to join the rest of the world in a five week fitness competition beginning on Friday October 11, 2019. Every Friday for five weeks a new WoD will be announced and Junior athletes will have 5 days to complete the workout and have their scores entered on the national leaderboard by a registered coach or trainer, known as the Scoring Official.
Registration fee includes a Junior Open 2020 t-shirt and the ability to have your scores posted on the national leaderboard.
Workout of the Day (WoD) will be announced here and on Facebook every Friday at 12:00pm EST.
